Our development project in Maui is well underway. My team and I have approached every facet of it through the filter of the SoulSpace process; deeply and energetically understanding what has been there, clearing out what no longer serves the space and those who will occupy it, and leaving a blank canvas from which to dream about what it can be and put those dreams into action.

I’ve cleared and cleansed all of the attics and the trash that has been accumulating underneath all the buildings for the last 20+ years. I’ve worked to bring new life into the land and the trees. One of the most significant things we’ve focused on is the energy work on the land to clear, heal and revive this sacred space.  We’ve done Native American ceremonies, Hawaiian ceremonies, and prayers with Hawaiian Kahunas. We’ve saged and lit incense for days.

The more time Jason and I spend here the more we can feel the land’s energy bestowing us with appreciation for our work.  But there’s still so much more to be done. This level of care MUST continue through the renovation and restoration of the buildings and surrounding land.

I continue to ASSESS, RELEASE and CLEANSE with the clarity of purpose that these steps are an essential part of allowing the dream and vision to come into being.  I’m certain that our efforts are in service of an end result that already knows exactly what it is supposed to be. Our job then is to use these tools to allow it to reveal itself so all can see and experience its true purpose. We’re working in concert with the energy. It’s an energy so powerful that it may in fact possess some electro-magnetic properties that are drawing the essential components and partners into our orbit to assist our work.

Perhaps it’s divine intervention. Whatever is going on seems to be working.

If nothing else, consider this –

If you have an idea…

A dream. A goal. A vision.

Embrace the uncertainty. Examine those long held beliefs that would prevent you from realizing the truest and purest expression of the thing you desire to bring into being. And remember that there are others who hold a piece of the puzzle. Whether you realize it or not your singular vision is a shared expression.

Of beauty.  Of love.  Of all.

    Dear Zorin,

I’ve been so excited to see the work progress on the Old Baldwin Dorms over the last year. I just love the way it has come back to life. Thank you for taking on this project and I hope you have much success.

My family has been in this area we call Kahaupali for over 150 years. If you look west from your parcel into the cane fields you will see our family cemetery. The house mauka from you, now a group home for kids, belonged to our great-grandparents who were friends of the Baldwins. And, next door mauka to that is our family home which you may have noticed as a somewhat thread bare plantation style home; white with green trim as it has always been. (Very upcountry, those colors.) If you’d like any info about the area, please feel free to contact us. If you are on island at some point we would also love to come by to say “e komo mai” to our new neighbor; or if you prefer, join us in our daily ritual to toast the sun with a glass of wine at sunset. Again thanks for bringing the property back to life. This area is the most beautiful on Maui.

    With Much Aloha,

    Brendan

    Thank you
